Wind chime workshop

We just finished our clay workshops and it's been fun. The goals of the project were:
--how to roll and work with slabs. (they are so ready for pizza/cookie dough now).
--how to create texture using various items like texture plates and rubber stamps. Even those non slip mats make a great texture for clay slabs.
--how to join pieces of clay (scratch-slip-stick!)
We used templates for the top piece of the wind chime and cookie cutters for the danglers and the attachments (like the butterfly). My Templates we heavy card shapes commercially sold as blank board books. They are in shapes like a flower, a cloud, teapot, fish etc. Kids could also wing it and create their own shapes.  The photo shows a wire hanger but cord would work well too. The cord I used was thick enough to simply knot on the reverse side. It's about the thickness of the cord used for Gift bags you find in the dollar store. The Chimes make a gentle tinkle-y sound.
