Too Good not to Try!
One of the articles in the current School Arts magazine called "Working the Plate," by Ellen Mahoney (p. 32) and I was so intrigued I had to try it myself. It's called "Chine-colle."
I wanted to try to print some images to use on Christmas cards, and try the technique she described in the article, so I used some scrap foam cut off take out containers and created some "plates" to print with. The spot colour was a cut out circle of paper, applied just after inking the plate. (see article for more specific directions). I really liked the effect. Now I will have to pick my favourites, trim them up and put them on cards.
